Tonight we reflect points across the x-axis and the y-axis. A reflection is a flip, like a mirror image.
The axis you flip over decides which number changes its sign. Flip over the x-axis: the second number (y) changes sign. Flip over the y-axis: the first number (x) changes sign. The other number stays the same.

The y-axis is vertical, so the point flips from one side to the other (left or right). That changes the first number, x.
