Example: 12 ÷ 4 = 3 splits 12 into 4 equal groups of 3.

Example: 4 × 3 means 4 + 4 + 4 = 12.
Level 1 A word that means "for each one."
Example: $3 per pen means $3 for each one pen.
Level 1 Groups that all have the same number in them.
Example: 8 apples in 2 equal groups is 4 in each group.
