Percents, decimals, and fractions are three ways to say the same amount. Percent means "out of 100." If you already know 1/2 = 0.5 and how to read tenths and hundredths, switching between them is easy.
These are words you'll need to already know to follow this lesson โ not the new words the lesson teaches. Review each one, its meaning, and the example so the new lesson makes sense from the start.
Level 1 How many you have for every 100.
Example: 50 out of 100 squares are shaded.
Level 1 The first place after the dot in a decimal.
Example: In 0.5, the 5 is in the tenths place.
Level 1 The second place after the dot in a decimal.
Example: In 0.25, the 5 is in the hundredths place.
Level 1 Different fractions that show the same amount.
Example: 1/2 and 50/100 are equivalent fractions.
These check the skills you'll need for this lesson โ not the new lesson itself. Answer all 3, then press Show my path. No grade โ it just suggests where to start.
