  1. Name the question: 3/4 ÷ 1/8 asks how many 1/8s fit in 3/4
  2. Use common denominators: 3/4 = 6/8, and 6 eighths ÷ 1 eighth = 6
  3. Shortcut: multiply by the reciprocal of the divisor, 3/4 × 8/1 = 24/4 = 6, then check by multiplying: 6 × 1/8 = 6/8 = 3/4
