A box plot is built from a median and the smallest and largest values, all placed on a number line. So you need to be warm at ordering numbers, finding the middle, subtracting to get the range, and reading a number line.
These are words you'll need to already know to follow this lesson โ not the new words the lesson teaches. Review each one, its meaning, and the example so the new lesson makes sense from the start.
Level 1 To line up numbers from smallest to biggest.
Example: Put 6, 2, 9, 4 in order: 2, 4, 6, 9.
Level 1 The middle number when the list is in order.
Example: In 3, 5, 7 the median is 5.
Level 1 To take one number away from another.
Example: 7 โ 3 leaves 4.
Level 1 A line where numbers are placed in order, smaller to bigger.
Example: On a number line, 6 sits between 4 and 8.
These check the skills you'll need for this lesson โ not the new lesson itself. Answer all 3, then press Show my path. No grade โ it just suggests where to start.

2. What is the range of 3, 7, 5 (biggest โ smallest)?
