Plotting in all four quadrants is just first-quadrant plotting plus knowing opposite directions: left/right for x, up/down for y. Warm up reading (x, y) and the idea of opposites, then negatives are easy.
These are words you'll need to already know to follow this lesson โ not the new words the lesson teaches. Review each one, its meaning, and the example so the new lesson makes sense from the start.
Level 1 Moving left or right, side to side.
Example: The first number tells how far to move across.
Level 1 Moving toward the top or toward the bottom.
Example: The second number tells how far to move up or down.
Level 1 Going the other way; the reverse direction.
Example: Left is the opposite of right, and down is the opposite of up.
Level 1 The starting spot where you begin counting on the grid.
Example: Start at the origin (0, 0) before you move.
These check the skills you'll need for this lesson โ not the new lesson itself. Answer all 3, then press Show my path. No grade โ it just suggests where to start.

2. What is the opposite of moving up?
