Division You Can Actually Use
The Pre-Unit is an assembled sequence — Lesson 1-1, then 2-6, 2-7, 6-1 and 6-2 — and every one of those lessons is a different kind of division. This project is where they meet: one supply-planning job that needs whole-number division with a remainder that matters, decimal division with a decimal divisor, and division by a fraction. Students finish by designing their own order and defending it.

Pick Your Path
Choose the project your teacher assigned—or the context that fits you. Each path has its own aligned success criteria, math evidence, and final product.
Take your time. Plan for two to three class periods. Your work saves automatically, so you can stop and come back.
Stuck on writing? Every response box has a “Need a starter?” helper, and the last step includes a Rate My Work check before you turn it in.

How to Use This Project
Where it goes: after Lesson 6-2, the last instructional lesson in the validated Pre-Unit sequence (1-1 → 2-6 → 2-7 → 6-1 → 6-2 → this project). It uses the Pre-Unit's existing additional day; no later unit date moves.
Standards: 6.NOS.2 (divide multi-digit whole numbers and interpret the remainder), 6.NOS.3 (divide with decimals using equivalent division), 6.NOS.1 (divide with fractions and mixed numbers). The explaining and defending strand comes from Lesson 1-1.
Nothing untaught appears. There is no ratio, percent, expression or equation work anywhere in the project — the difficulty comes from integrating the five Pre-Unit lessons, not from new content.
Three levels, as in every culminating project. Level 0 supplies small numbers, a worked example and a one-step-at-a-time script; Level 1 supplies friendly numbers and a strategy tip; Level 2 empties the fields, so the student chooses numbers that satisfy the constraints and then argues for a reading of their own quotient.
Built in: a step trail with progress, a no-giveaway hint ladder that names the misconception, save and resume across days, partner comparison that stays locked until the student has earned their own answer, a 4-point rubric and a closing reflection.
