Stretch: Which Is the Better Deal?
I can find and compare unit rates to decide which option is the better buy.
🧠 The Challenge
To compare deals fairly, put them on the same footing: the unit rate (price for one).
Then the smaller unit price wins.
Example: Store A: 6 apples for $3 → $0.50 each. Store B: 10 apples for $4 → $0.40 each. Store B is the better deal.
✏️ Your Turn
0 of 3 checks complete
1. Brand X: 4 bars for $2.00. Brand Y: 6 bars for $2.40. Which is cheaper per bar?
2. Car A goes 180 mi on 6 gal. Car B goes 200 mi on 8 gal. Which gets more miles per gallon?
3. Which is the better unit rate for buying juice (lower price per liter)?
💬 Explain Your Thinking
Explain how you decided which deal was better:
"Option A costs blank per one, and option B costs blank per one, so blank is the better deal because blank."
