Tonight we learn to write a ratio. A ratio is a way to compare two amounts, like 3 cups of apple juice to 2 cups of sparkling water.

You can write "3 to 2" with two dots instead of the word "to." That is colon notation: 3:2.

You can also compare one amount to the total.
